1-1                         SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 1021
 1-2           WHEREAS, Following the principles of the Scout oath and
 1-3     promise, James Preston Fischer of Cedar Hill, Texas, advanced
 1-4     through the ranks of Tenderfoot, Second, First, Star, and Life
 1-5     classes before recently attaining the rank of Eagle Scout; and
 1-6           WHEREAS, In receiving the coveted Eagle Badge, this fine
 1-7     young man becomes one of the privileged few who ever achieve this
 1-8     distinguished honor; and
 1-9           WHEREAS, In conducting a service project which allowed him
1-10     to exercise his leadership abilities, James has completed the
1-11     requirements for becoming an Eagle Scout and has at the same time
1-12     benefitted his community; and
1-13           WHEREAS, James's service project entailed painting stripes
1-14     on Hope Lutheran Church's parking lot and placing reflectors around
1-15     the entrances; James and his volunteers demonstrated much civic
1-16     pride and provided the church with a valuable service; and
1-17           WHEREAS, This personable young man brings great honor to
1-18     himself, his family, and his troop in joining the elite corps of
1-19     Eagles; and
1-20           WHEREAS, James is truly a shining example to his troop and
1-21     and indeed all citizens of Texas; now, therefore, be it
 2-1           RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
 2-2     76th Legislature, hereby commend James Preston Fischer of Troop 541
 2-3     on his outstanding achievement; and, be it further
 2-4           RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
 2-5     Eagle Scout Fischer as an expression of admiration from the
 2-6     Texas Senate.
