 1-4                                     of
 1-5                            Louis G. Yznaga, Sr.
 1-6           WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas joins the citizens
 1-7     of San Antonio in mourning the loss of Louis G. Yznaga, Sr., who
 1-8     died May 8, 1999, at the age of 62; and
 1-9           WHEREAS, Louis was born the fifth of seven children; love,
1-10     hard work, and humor were the keystones of his generous spirit; and
1-11           WHEREAS, Louis was happily married to his beloved wife
1-12     of 39 years, Rosario C. Yznaga, and they were blessed with four
1-13     children and four granddaughters; and
1-14           WHEREAS, A patriotic gentleman, Louis spent 33 years of
1-15     service in the United States Air Force Reserve; he retired in
1-16     1997 as Chief Master Sergeant; and
1-17           WHEREAS, A federal employee for 38 years, he was a talented
1-18     electronics technician at Kelly Air Force Base, and he was scheduled
1-19     to retire from his job this August; and
 2-1           WHEREAS, Mr. Yznaga had planned to continue working with his
 2-2     brother, Richard Yznaga, in their hobby, woodworking; Louis had just
 2-3     completed a successful show of his handcrafted Heirloom Crosses at
 2-4     the Southwest Craft Center and was delighted with his success; and
 2-5           WHEREAS, A devout Catholic, he was a longtime member of
 2-6     Saint Margaret Mary Catholic Church, where he had actively
 2-7     participated in many parish projects for years; and
 2-8           WHEREAS, Louis was a man who cared immensely about his
 2-9     family and anyone who needed his help; he was always quick with
2-10     a smile and ready with a hug; and
2-11           WHEREAS, A man of strength, integrity, and generosity, he
2-12     gave unselfishly of his time to others; his wisdom, warmth, and
2-13     valued counsel will not be forgotten by those who knew and loved
2-14     him; and
2-15           WHEREAS, An exemplary and distinguished gentleman, Mr. Yznaga
2-16     was respected for his many accomplishments and was a leader in his
2-17     community; and
2-18           WHEREAS, Louis was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather,
2-19     and he leaves memories that will be treasured forever by his family
2-20     and many friends; now, therefore, be it
2-21           RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
2-22     76th Legislature, hereby express sincere condolences to the
2-23     family of Louis G. Yznaga, Sr.:  his wife, Rosario; his children,
 3-1     Louis, Jr., Mary Ann, Vincent, and Lydia; his mother, Ana; and his
 3-2     four granddaughters; and, be it further
 3-3           RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared
 3-4     for his family as an expression of sincere sympathy from the
 3-5     Texas Senate, and that when the Senate adjourns this day, it do
 3-6     so in memory of Louis G. Yznaga, Sr.
