1-1 1 1-2 SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 1054 1-3 WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas takes great pleasure 1-4 in honoring Lisa Lyn Graves on her outstanding high school career 1-5 and her graduation from Goldthwaite High School; and 1-6 WHEREAS, Lisa Lyn Graves was born on April Fool's 1-7 Day--April 1, 1981, in Goldthwaite, Texas; Lisa is the daughter of 1-8 Dr. T. C. and Carol Graves, the sister of Debra and Cody Graves, 1-9 and the granddaughter of Minnie Graves and the late Dr. T. C. Graves 1-10 and the late Leona and Edwin VanDerLeest; and 1-11 WHEREAS, Lisa achieved the prestigious honor of being named 1-12 valedictorian of Goldthwaite High School, Class of 1999; she 1-13 earned straight A's from kindergarten through 12th grade; she is 1-14 a third-generation valedictorian, preceded in this high honor by 1-15 her father, Dr. Thomas Cody Graves, Goldthwaite High School, Class 1-16 of 1960, and her grandfather, the late Dr. Thomas Clark Graves, 1-17 Goldthwaite High School, Class of 1928; and 1-18 WHEREAS, Lisa has earned many accolades throughout her high 1-19 school career, including President of the National Honor Society, 1-20 President of the United Methodist Youth Fellowship, President of 1-21 the Future Homemakers of America, and President of her Sophomore 2-1 Class; she has been named a class officer, a student council member 2-2 and officer, and Lions Club Honor Banquet Honoree four years in a 2-3 row; she was voted "Best All-Around" by her peers in 1998 and 1999, 2-4 was awarded Ms. Goldthwaite High School, and was selected to attend 2-5 the National Youth Leadership Forum in Washington, D.C.; she was 2-6 also the recipient of the Mills County State Bank Scholarship and 2-7 the Mirabeau B.
