1-1 SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 1062 1-2 WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to 1-3 congratulate Sheva N. Roquemore on her recent graduation from 1-4 the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with a master 1-5 of public administration degree and a concentration in public 1-6 policy; and 1-7 WHEREAS, Sheva earned her bachelor of arts degree in social 1-8 science from the University of North Texas in 1996; upon completing 1-9 her undergraduate education, Sheva was a student teacher in the 1-10 Denton, Texas, public schools; she then left this position for 1-11 Washington, D.C., where she worked as a White House intern; and 1-12 WHEREAS, At the University of North Carolina, Sheva 1-13 distinguished herself as a researcher and scholar; she worked 1-14 to analyze the effects of the mandated "Welfare to Work" 1-15 program and to develop the Self-Help Credit Union in Durham 1-16 County, North Carolina; and 1-17 WHEREAS, Sheva also completed a graduate internship at the 1-18 City Manager's Office in Decatur, Georgia; there, she helped 1-19 develop a campaign to gauge citizens' satisfaction with the 1-20 city's recycling and sanitation services and to increase citizen 1-21 involvement within the community; and 2-1 WHEREAS, This young lady's impressive achievements evidence 2-2 much hard work and dedication; no doubt Sheva has honed the skills 2-3 necessary to develop innovative solutions to the challenges 2-4 which face today's public sector; Sheva's education has prepared 2-5 her for a bright future and a rewarding career; now, therefore, 2-6 be it 2-7 RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 2-8 76th Legislature, hereby commend Sheva N.
