 1-2                                  In Memory
 1-3                                     of
 1-4                                 Samuel Wong
 1-5           WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas joins the citizens
 1-6     of San Antonio in mourning the loss of Samuel Wong, who died
 1-7     recently at the age of 66; and
 1-8           WHEREAS, This esteemed gentleman will be remembered for his
 1-9     devotion to his family and his country, and his death will be
1-10     deeply felt by all who had the pleasure of knowing him; and
1-11           WHEREAS, A native of San Antonio, Samuel Wong was born
1-12     May 18, 1932, to Gow and Lucy Wong; he grew into a hardworking
1-13     young man who enlisted in the Army National Guard at an early age;
1-14     and
1-15           WHEREAS, Mr. Wong gave more than half of his life to the Army
1-16     and Air Force Reserves, and his 45 years of dedicated service to
1-17     his country was marked by true allegiance and fidelity; and
1-18           WHEREAS, Retiring in 1988 from Kelly Air Force Base afforded
1-19     Mr. Wong the opportunity to enjoy the peace and relaxation of
1-20     fishing at the lake; and
1-21           WHEREAS, Samuel Wong was a devoted father, grandfather, and
1-22     great-grandfather, and he left a legacy of love, wisdom, and truth
 2-1     to be cherished by all who knew him; now, therefore, be it
 2-2           RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
 2-3     76th Legislature, hereby extend sincere condolences to the
 2-4     family of Samuel Wong:  his children, Sammy, Richard, and Lisa,
 2-5     and their spouses, and his grandchildren and great-grandchildren;
 2-6     and, be it further
 2-7           RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
 2-8     members of his family as an expression of deepest sympathy from the
 2-9     Texas Senate, and that when the Senate adjourns this day, it do so
2-10     in memory of Samuel Wong.
