1-1 SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 1080 1-2 WHEREAS, Philip Newman of Tyler, Texas, has recently been 1-3 honored by the Boy Scout program for attaining the rank of 1-4 Eagle Scout; and 1-5 WHEREAS, After planning, developing, and conducting a 1-6 service project through which the community was benefitted, this 1-7 fine young gentleman was recognized as an able and outstanding 1-8 leader; and 1-9 WHEREAS, Philip brings great honor to himself in earning the 1-10 coveted Eagle Badge; his family, troop, community, and state are 1-11 justly proud of his great accomplishments; and 1-12 WHEREAS, Following the principles of the Scout oath and 1-13 promise, this personable young man advanced through the ranks of 1-14 Tenderfoot, Second, First, Star, and Life classes before reaching 1-15 Eagle Scout; and 1-16 WHEREAS, Philip has become one of a privileged few to achieve 1-17 this prestigious honor and is a glowing example to all citizens 1-18 of Texas; now, therefore, be it 1-19 RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 1-20 76th Legislature, hereby commend Philip Newman on receiving this 1-21 esteemed honor and congratulate him on his great achievement; and, 2-1 be it further 2-2 RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for 2-3 Eagle Scout Newman as an expression of great admiration from the 2-4 Texas Senate. 2-5 Cain 2-6 ______________________________________ 2-7 President of the Senate 2-8 I hereby certify that the above 2-9 Resolution was adopted by the Senate 2-10 on May 24, 1999. 2-11 ______________________________________ 2-12 Secretary of the Senate 2-13 ______________________________________ 2-14 Member, Texas Senate
