 1-5                         Elaine Grace Miller Bizzell
 1-6           WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas joins the citizens
 1-7     of Georgetown, Texas, in marking the one-year anniversary of the
 1-8     loss of a beloved citizen, Elaine Grace Miller Bizzell, who died
 1-9     on March 28, 1998, at the age of 52; and
1-10           WHEREAS, A native of Georgetown, Mrs. Bizzell was born on
1-11     February 15, 1946, to Charles Miller and Pauline Ischy Miller;
1-12     her baptism took place on March 24, 1946, at Saint Peter's
1-13     Lutheran Church in Walburg; at age 13, she was confirmed at
1-14     Christ Lutheran Church in Georgetown; and
1-15           WHEREAS, To the town which she so dearly loved, Mrs. Bizzell
1-16     dutifully gave back; her entire career was dedicated to serving
1-17     the citizens of Georgetown; in 1966, she began working with the
1-18     county clerk's office of Williamson County and was appointed to
1-19     the county clerk position in 1991; three years later, Mrs. Bizzell
1-20     won election to that post, and 1998 saw her run unopposed for
 2-1     that same position; and
 2-2           WHEREAS, Socially active in her community, Mrs. Bizzell was
 2-3     a member of the Georgetown Kiwanis Club, the Twelve O'Clock Club,
 2-4     and the Professional Women of Williamson County; and
 2-5           WHEREAS, Her faith was an important part of Mrs. Bizzell's
 2-6     life; she served the congregation of Christ Lutheran Church as
 2-7     a member of the Altar Guild and the Teller's Committee, as well
 2-8     as assisting with Lutheran World Relief projects and the church's
 2-9     blood drives; and
2-10           WHEREAS, Mrs. Bizzell was an avid fisherman and enthusiastic
2-11     dancer; she delighted in the company of friends and family; a
2-12     true lady filled with integrity, strength, and generosity,
2-13     Mrs. Bizzell will be dearly missed by family and friends and the
2-14     Georgetown community; now, therefore, be it
2-15           RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
2-16     76th Legislature, hereby celebrate the life and work of
2-17     Elaine Grace Miller Bizzell; on this, the one-year anniversary
2-18     of her passing, the Senate extends sincere condolences to the
2-19     family of Mrs. Bizzell:  her son, Thomas Bizzell; her parents,
2-20     Charles and Pauline Miller; her sisters and brothers-in-law,
2-21     Carolyn and Dickie Gardner, Kathleen Owens, Karen and
2-22     Dickie Whiteaker, and Pam and Dale Pope; and the many others
2-23     who dearly loved this exceptional person; and, be it further
2-24           RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
 3-1     the members of her family as an expression of deepest sympathy
 3-2     from the Texas Senate, and that when the Senate adjourns this
 3-3     day, it do so in memory of Elaine Grace Miller Bizzell.
