1-1 SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 1122 1-2 In Memory 1-3 of 1-4 Robert Hilary Hoy, Sr. 1-5 WHEREAS, It is with great sorrow that the Senate of the 1-6 State of Texas joins the citizens of El Paso in mourning the loss 1-7 of Robert Hilary Hoy, Sr., who died on April 30, 1999, at the age 1-8 of 89; and 1-9 WHEREAS, This esteemed gentleman will be remembered for 1-10 his devotion to his family, his community, and his country, and 1-11 his death will be deeply felt by all who had the pleasure of 1-12 knowing him; and 1-13 WHEREAS, A native of Arkansas, he was born on April 22, 1910, 1-14 and moved to El Paso in 1929, where he generously contributed his 1-15 time and energy to civic organizations; and 1-16 WHEREAS, After distinguishing himself in the retail grocery 1-17 business, Mr. Hoy retired in 1965 as Executive Vice President of 1-18 Food Mart, Incorporated; and 1-19 WHEREAS, In addition to his business responsibilities, 1-20 Mr. Hoy took great interest in civic organizations devoted to the 1-21 betterment of his community; he was a lifetime member of Masonic 1-22 Lodge Number 1137, Scottish Rite Cathedral, and El Maida Shrine 2-1 Temple; and 2-2 WHEREAS, Robert Hoy leaves a legacy of devotion, commitment, 2-3 and compassion that will be cherished by those who knew and loved 2-4 him; now, therefore, be it 2-5 RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 2-6 76th Legislature, hereby extend sincere condolences to the family 2-7 of Robert Hilary Hoy, Sr.: his wife, Elizabeth; his daughter, 2-8 Annie Ellen Hoy; his sons, John Thomas and Robert H.
