1-1 SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 1130 1-2 WHEREAS, April 24th will be a day long remembered and 1-3 cherished by Mr. and Mrs. James Shepherd of Ennis, for on that 1-4 day they celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary; and 1-5 WHEREAS, James and Mary Shepherd were married on 1-6 April 24, 1949, at Seward Avenue Baptist Church in Topeka, Kansas; 1-7 and 1-8 WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. Shepherd have always shared the trust 1-9 and honesty that are the cornerstones of a successful marriage; and 1-10 WHEREAS, The world has changed greatly during their marriage, 1-11 yet James and Mary Shepherd have remained steadfast in their 1-12 traditional and moral values; and 1-13 WHEREAS, Through the years, Mr. and Mrs. Shepherd have 1-14 grown ever stronger in love and devotion as together they have 1-15 experienced the joys and sorrows of everyday living; and 1-16 WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. Shepherd have been blessed with 1-17 a wonderful family; they have four daughters, Judy, Barbara, 1-18 Patti Joe, and Kelley, and eight grandchildren and two 1-19 great-grandchildren; and 1-20 WHEREAS, To celebrate this milestone in their lives, the 2-1 distinguished couple took a Caribbean cruise with their daughters 2-2 and spouses; and 2-3 WHEREAS, The long and happy union of Mr. and Mrs. Shepherd 2-4 is truly an inspiration to us all; now, therefore, be it 2-5 RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 2-6 76th Legislature, hereby congratulate Mr. and Mrs. James Shepherd 2-7 on their golden wedding anniversary; and, be it further 2-8 RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for 2-9 Mr. and Mrs. Shepherd as an expression of the high regard of the 2-10 Texas Senate. 2-11 Cain 2-12 ______________________________________ 2-13 President of the Senate 2-14 I hereby certify that the above 2-15 Resolution was adopted by the Senate 2-16 on May 26, 1999. 2-17 ______________________________________ 2-18 Secretary of the Senate 2-19 ______________________________________ 2-20 Member, Texas Senate
