 1-3                                  In Memory
 1-4                                     of
 1-5                           Dr. Larry Henry Patton
 1-6           WHEREAS, The passing of Dr. Larry Henry Patton on
 1-7     April 11, 1999, has brought a great loss to the family, friends,
 1-8     and patients of this esteemed Dallas pediatrician; and
 1-9           WHEREAS, Dr. Patton had a distinguished medical career
1-10     as a practitioner of pediatrics in Richardson for nearly 30
1-11     years, and he also shared his expertise with others as a clinical
1-12     professor of pediatrics at The University of Texas Southwestern
1-13     Medical School; in addition to these outstanding accomplishments,
1-14     he was president of the staff at Children's Medical Center in
1-15     Dallas; and
1-16           WHEREAS, For his exemplary contributions to the field of
1-17     pediatrics and to children, Dr. Patton was awarded the Kaliski
1-18     Award in 1988 by his colleagues in the Texas Pediatric Society,
1-19     and he was well known throughout the Dallas area as a compassionate
1-20     and dedicated doctor; and
1-21           WHEREAS, A man of great faith as well, Dr. Patton was an
 2-1     active member of Arapaho United Methodist Church and sang in the
 2-2     church chancel choir; those who were privileged to know this
 2-3     respected physician will long miss his presence, but his spirit
 2-4     will surely live on in the hearts and minds of the many people
 2-5     whose lives he touched; now, therefore, be it
 2-6           RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
 2-7     76th Legislature, hereby honor the memory of Dr. Patton
 2-8     and extend sincere condolences to the members of his family:
 2-9     his wife of 36 years, Joyce Stevenson Patton; his son and
2-10     daughter-in-law, David and Julie Patton; his son, Robert Patton;
2-11     his daughter and son-in-law, Page and Bill Tucker; his
2-12     granddaughter, Anna Katherine Tucker; and the many other relatives,
2-13     friends, and patients of this fine man; and, be it further
2-14           RESOLVED, That an official copy of this Resolution be
2-15     prepared for the members of his family as an expression of deepest
2-16     sympathy from the Texas Senate and that when the Senate adjourns
2-17     this day, it do so in memory of Dr. Larry Henry Patton.
