 1-2                                  In Memory
 1-3                                     of
 1-4                           Jose A. Montemayor, Jr.
 1-5           WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas joins the
 1-6     citizens of Laredo in mourning the loss of lifelong citizen
 1-7     Jose A. Montemayor, Jr., who died May 16, 1999; and
 1-8           WHEREAS, Mr. Montemayor graduated from Saint Joseph's
 1-9     Academy; he then attended Saint Mary's University in San Antonio;
1-10     and
1-11           WHEREAS, An exemplary citizen, Mr. Montemayor served in
1-12     the United States Army before returning home to Laredo, where he
1-13     continued his family's successful business; and
1-14           WHEREAS, His faith was an important part of Mr. Montemayor's
1-15     life; he was a member of the Equestrian Order of the Holy Sepulchre
1-16     of Jerusalem; and
1-17           WHEREAS, Mr. Montemayor was a devoted husband and father,
1-18     and he leaves behind memories that will be treasured forever by his
1-19     family and friends; and
1-20           WHEREAS, A distinguished gentleman, Mr. Montemayor was
1-21     respected for his many accomplishments and was a beloved leader
1-22     in his community; a man of integrity, strength, and generosity,
 2-1     he gave unselfishly of his time to others; his wisdom, warmth, and
 2-2     valued counsel will be missed; now, therefore, be it
 2-3           RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
 2-4     76th Legislature, hereby extend sincere condolences to the family
 2-5     of Jose A. Montemayor, Jr.:  his wife, Nora Gonzalez de Montemayor;
 2-6     his children, Jose, Nora Idalia, Gerardo, and Armando; and his
 2-7     grandchildren, Jose, Oscar, Armando, and Khrysten; and, be it
 2-8     further
 2-9           RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
2-10     the members of his family as an expression of deepest sympathy from
2-11     the Texas Senate, and that when the Senate adjourns this day, it do
2-12     so in memory of Jose A. Montemayor, Jr.
