1-1 SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 1201 1-2 WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to 1-3 recognize the Agape Christian Center for its outstanding 1-4 contributions to the Bryan/College Station community; and 1-5 WHEREAS, The growth of this worship center has certainly 1-6 merited a new building; this June will be the month of the 1-7 congregation's movement into a new church home; the occasion 1-8 will be marked with a joyous Grand Entrance Ceremony; and 1-9 WHEREAS, The Agape Christian Center was formed 1-10 February 5, 1995; since that time, the church has experienced 1-11 prodigious growth, garnering support from local families and 1-12 forming special alliances with the students of Texas A&M University; 1-13 and 1-14 WHEREAS, The church's mission is to develop a strong ministry 1-15 which achieves excellence in the community by tapping into strengths 1-16 to overcome weaknesses; one example of this is the exemplary student 1-17 tutoring program, where the church members help high school students 1-18 excel on standardized tests and college entrance exams; and 1-19 WHEREAS, Agape Christian Center is proud of its talented 1-20 and faithful leadership, which includes some of the community's 1-21 brightest citizens; these capable individuals will surely help 2-1 Agape Christian Center accomplish its goals to spread the gospel 2-2 message of love; now, therefore, be it 2-3 RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 2-4 76th Legislature, hereby extend best wishes to the Agape Christian 2-5 Center for the services, festivities, and other events it will 2-6 hold during the month of June as it celebrates its Grand Entrance 2-7 Ceremony and wish it continued future success and growth; and, be 2-8 it further 2-9 RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for 2-10 this esteemed congregation to mark this auspicious month in the 2-11 church's history. 2-12 Ogden 2-13 ______________________________________ 2-14 President of the Senate 2-15 I hereby certify that the above 2-16 Resolution was adopted by the Senate 2-17 on May 31, 1999. 2-18 ______________________________________ 2-19 Secretary of the Senate 2-20 ______________________________________ 2-21 Member, Texas Senate
