1-1                         SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 1213
 1-2           WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is proud to
 1-3     recognize the Antonio Moya family for its many accomplishments;
 1-4     and
 1-5           WHEREAS, Antonio Moya was born April 15, 1930, in
 1-6     Cadereyta Jimenez, Nuevo Leon, and he moved to Weslaco, Texas,
 1-7     in 1946 to work; and
 1-8           WHEREAS, In 1948, Mr. Moya moved to El Campo and tried to
 1-9     enlist in the United States Army but was not eligible because he
1-10     was not a legal resident; and
1-11           WHEREAS, Antonio Moya married Librada Moya on January 28, 1955,
1-12     and they have had a happy and lasting marriage for 44 years; and
1-13           WHEREAS, Obtaining legal residency in 1957, Mr. Moya became
1-14     a member of the reserves; later, he moved to California, where he
1-15     worked in a winery until 1963; and
1-16           WHEREAS, After living in Indiana and working for American
1-17     Motors, where government vehicles were manufactured, Mr. Moya and
1-18     his family moved to Galena Park, Texas; he worked as a trailer
1-19     owner and operator; and
1-20           WHEREAS, In 1993, Antonio bought a set of apartments and a
1-21     Conoco gas station, later named Moya's Conoco; and
1-22           WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. Moya are the loving parents of five
1-23     boys and one girl and the grandparents of eight grandchildren;
 2-1     for the last 10 years, the couple has taken in 40 foster children
 2-2     to love and support; and
 2-3           WHEREAS, Active in their community, Mr. and Mrs. Moya are
 2-4     involved in many civic projects; they greatly enjoy assisting their
 2-5     grandchildren and their foster children with their school projects;
 2-6     and
 2-7           WHEREAS, Antonio and Librada have been successful
 2-8     in providing a warm family atmosphere for their children,
 2-9     grandchildren, and foster children; now, therefore, be it
2-10           RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
2-11     76th Legislature, hereby commend Mr. and Mrs. Antonio Moya
2-12     for their extraordinary achievements in parenting all of their
2-13     children; and, be it further
2-14           RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
2-15     them as an expression of the highest esteem of the Texas Senate.
