 1-3                                  In Memory
 1-4                                     of
 1-5                             Michael J. De Marco
 1-6           WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas joins the citizens
 1-7     of San Antonio in mourning the loss of Michael J. De Marco, who
 1-8     died May 20, 1999, at the age of 81; and
 1-9           WHEREAS, Full of great energy and an enthusiasm for
1-10     life, Mr. De Marco will be forever gratefully remembered for his
1-11     generosity and love for his fellowman; and
1-12           WHEREAS, This distinguished World War II veteran served
1-13     as an independent insurance agent for 50 years and was actively
1-14     involved in the community; he was a charter and lifetime
1-15     member of the West Side Lions Club and a member of the
1-16     Christopher Columbus Italian Society; for 40 years he served
1-17     as a Director of Westside Bank; and
1-18           WHEREAS, A devoted fan of the San Antonio Spurs and a season
1-19     ticket holder, Mr. De Marco was delighted to cheer as his team
1-20     enjoyed their best season; and
1-21           WHEREAS, A member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church for
 2-1     35 years, Mr. De Marco was a faithful Christian who lived his faith
 2-2     in his daily life; and
 2-3           WHEREAS, A man of great personal charm and warmth,
 2-4     Mr. De Marco was a loyal friend who enriched the lives of many; and
 2-5           WHEREAS, Of all the characteristics that marked the life of
 2-6     Michael J. De Marco, his loving ways and giving spirit will be
 2-7     cherished by those who knew and loved him; now, therefore, be it
 2-8           RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
 2-9     76th Legislature, hereby extend sincere condolences to the members
2-10     of his family:  his daughters, Carol Ann Young and Patti Morehouse;
2-11     and his grandson, Sam Morehouse; and, be it further
2-12           RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for the
2-13     members of his family as an expression of deepest sympathy from the
2-14     Texas Senate, and that when the Senate adjourns this day, it do so
2-15     in memory of Michael J. De Marco.
