Methodology The Texas Department of Transportation (TxDot) estimated that registrants that were paying the 20% penalty for late registration would now pay for a full twelve month registration under provisions of the bill. TxDot estimated that the average annual registration fee is $60. Approximately $40 is deposited to the State Highway Fund 0006, with the remainder retained by the county.
