Methodology * Approximately 1,000 peace officers would be exempted from the provisions of the Private Investigators and Private Security Agencies Act. * The officers exempted would no longer pay the $25 registration fee and the $225 licensing fee. * Information from the Texas Board of Private Investigators and Private Security Agencies was used to estimate the number of officers which would be exempted by the bill and the fee rates which apply to these officers.
