LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD Austin, Texas FISCAL NOTE, 76th Regular Session March 5, 1999 TO: Honorable Paul Sadler, Chair, House Committee on Public Education FROM: John Keel, Director, Legislative Budget Board IN RE: HB617 by Ehrhardt (Relating to waiver applications by a public school campus or district.), As Introduced ************************************************************************** * No fiscal implication to the State is anticipated. * ************************************************************************** Current law requires campus and school district decision making committees, and also requires that these committees review and provide written comments on the waiver applications as submitted by local school boards to the commissioner of education. This legislation would require the signature of the committee chair attesting to a review of the waiver application by a majority of the committee. Local Government Impact No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated. Implementation of the provisions of the bill may require additional meetings of campus and/or district level committees required under section 11.251 of the Texas Education Code.
