LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD Austin, Texas FISCAL NOTE, 76th Regular Session March 19, 1999 TO: Honorable Bob Hunter, Chair, House Committee on State, Federal & International Relations FROM: John Keel, Director, Legislative Budget Board IN RE: HB1865 by Edwards (Relating to the operations of the Texas Emancipation Juneteenth Cultural and Historical Commission), As Introduced ************************************************************************** * No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated. * ************************************************************************** The fiscal note assumes that under the new requirement to establish other Juneteenth memorial monuments at appropriate locations throughout the state, the Juneteenth Commission would establish the same number of monuments as planned in the current biennium (one), and that costs associated with this would be covered from existing funds. The requirement to prepare and distribute publications could result in additional costs to the commission, however, because the commission did not address the number of publications that might be produced or whether costs would be recovered by charging for the publications, the fiscal note assumes no significant fiscal impact. Local Government Impact No fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated. Source Agencies: LBB Staff: JK, TH, JH
