Technology Impact
Technology impact would be limited to a microcomputer and associated
equipment to support one administrative technician.
Fiscal Analysis
The bill would allow county government to obtain criminal history record
information from the Department of Public Safety on applicants for
county employment.
Methodology
Based on a random survey of counties, the Department of Public Safety
estimates that approximately 150,000 additional criminal history record
checks would be conducted each year. The additional inquiries would
require one additional FTE (Administrative Technician I) to handle the
additional workload. The estimated increase in General Revenue is
$150,000 (150,000 inquiries x $1.00/inquiry = $150,000).
Local Government Impact
County government would be required to pay $1.00 for each criminal
history record check requested. Statewide, the estimated annual cost
would be $150,000.
