FISCAL NOTE, 76th Regular Session

TO: Honorable Frank Madla, Chair, Senate Committee on

Local Government Impact
The bill could result in some administrative and enforcement costs to
both counties and municipalities, since each entity would be required to
issue a certificate of registration for each wild animal within the
entity's jurisdiction. The cost would depend on the number of wild
animal registration applications that would be received in a county or
municipality. Since each municipality and county would levy a fee of up
to $50 per animal ($500 maximum per person) for applications and
renewals to pay the costs of administration and enforcement, most local
entities would be expected to substantially recover costs incurred as a
result of the bill's enactment.
