Local Government Impact

The bill could result in some administrative and enforcement costs to
both counties and municipalities, since each entity would be required to
issue a certificate of registration for each wild animal within the
entity's jurisdiction. The cost would depend on the number of wild
animal registration applications that would be received in a county or
municipality. Since each municipality and county would levy a fee of up
to $50 per animal ($500 maximum per person) for applications and
renewals to pay the costs of administration and enforcement, each entity
is expected to substantially recover any costs incurred as a result of
the bill's enactment.
