LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD
Austin, Texas
FISCAL NOTE, 76th Regular Session
April 12, 1999
TO: Honorable Irma Rangel, Chair, House Committee on Higher
Education
FROM: John Keel, Director, Legislative Budget Board
IN RE: HB2302 by Green (Relating to student fees for bus
services at Southwest Texas State University), As
Introduced
**************************************************************************
* No fiscal implication to the State is anticipated. *
**************************************************************************
The bill would authorize an increase in student fees for increased bus
service pending a two-thirds vote of those students participating in a
general election. It is estimated that a student fee increase would
generate $190,000 in increased revenue per year.
These fees are auxiliary in nature and do not impact state
appropriations.
Local Government Impact
No fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
