The bill would also require the department to revise the application form for Farm Trailer, Farm Truck, or Farm Truck Tractor license plates and notify the county tax assessor-collectors and law enforcement agencies of the provisions of the bill Methodology The Texas Department of Transportation (TxDot) estimated that the demand for the Farm Trailer Plate, Farm Truck Plate, and Farm Truck Tractor Plate would increase by 20 percent in FY 2000 and in FY 2001 through 2004 remain constant. TxDot estimated that because the registration fee for farm license plates is 50 percent less than the fees for Truck, Combination, and Trailer registrations the state would incur a revenue loss because of the shift to the less costly plate. Local Government Impact TxDot estimated that the increase in demand for the Farm Trailer Plate, Farm Truck Plate, and Farm Truck Tractor Plate would have a revenue impact on local governments.
