Local Government Impact

No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is
anticipated. The bill would allow a public hospital or hospital
district that provides health care services to a patient the hospital
suspects is an eligible county resident for the purposes of the Indigent
Health Care and Treatment Act to require the patient to provide certain
information and authorize the release of certain information so that the
hospital district or public hospital can submit a claim.
