The bill would abolish the Funeral Service Commission and transfer the
duties of the commission to the Texas Department of Health. It is
assumed that this transfer would result in no net increase in
expenditures, revenues, or staff to the state.

The bill would create an advisory committee to advise the Department of
Health on funeral service issues. Reimbursement for travel and related
expenses for members of the advisory committee would have to be
authorized in the General Appropriations Act.

Local Government Impact

No fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
