Local Government Impact

There could be a loss of revenue to some counties associated with the
elimination of document filing and recording fees. However, some of the
revenue loss would be offset by a reduction in administrative costs
associated with the collection of fees.

Jefferson and Williamson Counties anticipate no significant fiscal impact
as a result of the bill's enactment.

Harris County estimates an annual revenue loss of $200,000 per year.
Tarrant County also anticipates a loss in revenue, but the county did
not quantify the loss.
