Local Government Impact
The bill would raise the records management and preservation fee
collected on criminal convictions in county and district courts from $10
to $20. Revenues to the county records management and preservation funds
would increase by approximately 100 percent. The increase would take
effect on September 1, 1999.
Below are examples of potential annual revenue increases resulting from
the bill's enactment, as estimated by the following counties:
Brazos County $ 39,574
Galveston County $ 50,000
Montgomery County $526,000
Tarrant County $240,000
Travis County $ 47,000
