All persons arrested for DWI would have to be videotaped in the county in which they were arrested. Videotapes would have to be maintained until the final disposition of a proceeding, and they would have to be made available to any attorney representing the defendant. Counties with a population of 25,000 or more would be required to obtain and maintain video equipment which could have a negative fiscal impact on county budgets. The cost to counties would depend on the amount of equipment necessary to implement the bill's provisions.
