Based on revised information reflecting a 1997-1998 participation rate of
approximately 10,000 individuals in drug and alcohol driving awareness
programs, the Texas Education Agency indicates that the cost of
implementing this legislation can be absorbed assuming the State Board
of Education assesses a fee of $6 per participant in the approved
programs.
Local Government Impact
No fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
