LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD Austin, Texas FISCAL NOTE, 76th Regular Session February 12, 1999 TO: Honorable Teel Bivins, Chair, Senate Committee on Education FROM: John Keel, Director, Legislative Budget Board IN RE: SB268 by Ogden (Relating to an optional extended year program for public school students who would not otherwise be promoted.), As Introduced ************************************************************************** * No fiscal implication to the State is anticipated. * ************************************************************************** Local Government Impact Since actions under the bill are voluntary, there are no direct costs to school districts. The salary schedule provisions of the bill would be fiscally neutral to participating school districts, but only through adjustment of teacher contracts. This adjustment would mean salary decreases for some teachers, and salary increases for others.
