FISCAL NOTE, 76th Regular Session
March 3, 1999
TO: Honorable Royce West, Chair, Senate Subcommittee on
Higher Education
FROM: John Keel, Director, Legislative Budget Board
IN RE: SB344 by Jackson (Relating to graduate level instruction
at Texas A&M University at Galveston.), As Introduced
**************************************************************************
* No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated. *
* *
* The bill would make no appropriation but could provide the legal *
* basis for an appropriation of funds to implement the provisions of *
* the bill. *
**************************************************************************
The bill would allow Texas A&M University at Galveston to offer graduate
programs, however the number of students who would enroll estimated to
be very small and would not result insignificant increases in formula
funding for general academic institutions.
Local Government Impact
No fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
