* No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated. *
*                                                                        *
* The bill would make no appropriation but could provide the legal *
* basis for an appropriation of funds to implement the provisions of *
*  the bill.                                                             *

The bill would require the composition of the Texas Board of Health to
include one nonvoting member appointed by the Interagency Council for
Genetics Services from the council members. According to the Department
of Health, the Board of Health would be required to pay travel expenses
for the new board member to attend monthly board meetings and additional
meetings such as hearings. It is assumed that the additional travel
expenses would be absorbed by the department using its existing
resources.

Local Government Impact

No fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
