LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD
Austin, Texas
FISCAL NOTE, 76th Regular Session
March 29, 1999
TO: Honorable Frank Madla, Chair, Senate Committee on
Intergovernmental Relations
FROM: John Keel, Director, Legislative Budget Board
IN RE: SB 633 by Madla (Relating to the application of a fire
code and fire code inspections to certain buildings in
unincorporated areas of a county.), As Introduced
**************************************************************************
* No fiscal implication to the State is anticipated. *

Local Government Impact
No significant fiscal implication to most counties is anticipated, since
additional building inspections are expected to be absorbed by existing
county fire marshall resources. However, the Harris County Fire Marshall
estimates that the bill's provision requiring periodic inspections of
buildings could require additional staff at a cost of $425,000 per year.
