LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD Austin, Texas FISCAL NOTE, 76th Regular Session March 2, 1999 TO: Honorable Frank Madla, Chair, Senate Committee on Intergovernmental Relations FROM: John Keel, Director, Legislative Budget Board IN RE: SB 732 by Harris (Relating to authorizing certain governmental entities located in certain municipalities with a development corporation to assess fees with the approval of the municipality.), As Introduced ************************************************************************** * No fiscal implication to the State is anticipated. * ************************************************************************** The bill would allow the governing board of the University of Texas-Arlington to impose a mandatory intercollegiate athletics fee at a maximum $7.75 per semester credit hour for each regular semester. Imposition of the fee would be contingent upon approval by the governing body of the City of Arlington. Imposition of the intercollegiate athletics fee would affect the local funds generated at the University of Texas-Arlington. The estimated increase in revenue is $3,216,250 in fiscal year 2000 and $3,231,750 in fiscal year 2001. Thereafter, a 0.25 percent increase is estimated for each subsequent year.
