The bill would create a task force to examine technical and policy issues
surrounding the current organ allocation policy in this state. The task
force would develop and implement an optimum organ allocation policy for
Texas. It is assumed that the Department of Health could provide
administrative support and services, in accordance with the provisions
of the bill, withing existing resources. Reimbursement for travel and
related expenses for members of the task force would require
authorization in the General Appropriations Act.

Local Government Impact

No fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
