TO: Honorable Frank Madla, Chair, Senate Committee on

The bill would create a new Electronic Recording Advisory Committee.
Members of the committee would be entitled to compensation and
reimbursement of expenses as determined by the state agency of which the
member is an officer or employee. Chapter 2110, Government Code, would
not apply to the committee.

Local Government Impact

No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is
anticipated. While counties that choose to accept electronic filing of
records may incur some costs associated with purchase of computer
hardware and software needed to permit filing and recording by
electronic means, it is not anticipated that these costs will be
significant. In addition, it is anticipated that most counties that
choose to accept electronic filing of records will already have the
technological capacity in place.
