Fiscal Analysis
The bill would authorize the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board to
contract with the University of Texas at Austin to establish, operate
and maintain a Multicultural Mathematics and Science Education
Cooperative. It is estimated that the initiative would cost
approximately $2,381,005 in general revenue funds over the next five
years.
Methodology
The program is an established federal program and is currently housed at
The University of Texas at Austin. Passage of the bill would allow
expansion of this program. Cost estimates are based on the operating
cost of the current federal program.
Local Government Impact
No fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
