* No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated. *

* The bill would make no appropriation but could provide the legal *
* basis for an appropriation of funds to implement the provisions of *
*  the bill.                                                             *

The bill would require the Department of Protective and Regulatory
Services to request that parents pay reasonable and necessary funeral
expenses for a child in the department's managing conservatorship who
dies in foster care. The department could also accept donations, gifts
and in-kind contributions to cover the funeral expenses. The bill would
have no significant fiscal impact since the department already has
statutory authority to pay for these expenses.

Local Government Impact

No fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
