Local Government Impact
No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is
anticipated.
The bill has no direct administrative costs to school districts since all
actions are voluntary and optional. Although it is not known how many
districts would choose to participate in the cooperative program, those
that do so would likely incur minimal costs. There may be some slight
reduction in funding of student attendance in the Foundation School
Program since students would not be attending school. The reference to
Section 25.085 of the Texas Education Code simply allows students to
avoid being truant while employed at the Johnson Space Center.
