LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD
Austin, Texas
FISCAL NOTE, 76th Regular Session
April 27, 1999
TO: Honorable Teel Bivins, Chair, Senate Committee on
Education
FROM: John Keel, Director, Legislative Budget Board
IN RE: SB1027 by Lucio (Relating to tech-prep education), As
Introduced
**************************************************************************
* No fiscal implication to the State is anticipated. *
**************************************************************************
The bill defines the membership and roles of regional Tech-Prep consortia
and fiscal agents. The provisions of the bill would have no impact on
state funds, but because these definitions are in conflict with federal
regulations concerning these areas, the bill could result in the state
being ineligible for part or all of the $8.5 million in federal Tech
Prep funds received annually.
Local Government Impact
Local government education units such as community college and school
districts could be affected by any changes in federal funds received for
Tech-Prep programs.
