Methodology The department stated that the Underground Facility Damage Prevention and Safety Act requires an excavator to contact a notification center between two and 14 days prior to the excavation. TxDot estimated that each of their maintenance offices spends approximately 30 minutes each day to coordinate with the Notification Centers. The department estimated that the bill could result in a savings in administrative costs. Local Government Impact No fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
