According to revised information from the Texas Agricultural Experiment
Station (TAES), the bill would not require additional inspectors in the
Feed and Fertilizer Control Service. The currently employed inspectors
would incorporate the additional duties established by the bill into
their existing program. The funds obtained from the assessed tonnage
and license fee (estimated by the TAES to be $95,000) would cover the
analytical assays for the aflatoxin and the additional travel costs
incurred by the inspectors.

Local Government Impact

No fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
