The agency could contract for placement that would accommodate the mother and her infant. The increased cost would be the incremental cost per day for contract care beds. Methodology It is estimated there are 14 young women in the Texas Youth Commission who would be eligible for a program established in the bill The agency estimates an incremental increase of $16/day for placement that would accommodate an infant as well as the mother. 14 young women X $16/day (increase) X 365 days = $81,760/year Local Government Impact No fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
