The purchase of a personal computer would be needed.
Fiscal Analysis
The bill would require the Texas Commission on the Arts (TCA) to develop
a program to promote development of the arts in cities with population
fewer than 50,000, located in counties on the Texas international border
with Mexico. The bill would require the TCA to use funds from gifts,
grants, and in-kind donations to provide financial assistance.
Methodology
The bill would require the TCA to develop a program promoting the arts in
certain small cities located in counties on the international border.
The TCA anticipates requiring one FTE to administer grants from funds
collected through gifts, grants and in-kind donations and to provide
hands-on, on-site technical assistance to develop arts programs for the
the various affected cities. The TCA estimates requiring about $66,000
and $63,000 in fiscal years 2000 and 2001, respectively, for the
implementation of the bill's provisions.
Local Government Impact
No significant fiscal implication to units of local government is
anticipated. Affected cities would benefit from assistance from the TCA
for development of the arts.
