LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD Austin, Texas FISCAL NOTE, 76th Regular Session March 22, 1999 TO: Honorable Florence Shapiro, Chair, Senate Committee on State Affairs FROM: John Keel, Director, Legislative Budget Board IN RE: SB1647 by Cain (Relating to the authority of the Texas Turnpike Authority Division of the Texas Department of Transportation to manage its affairs, clarify certain statutory provisions, and eliminate inconsistencies within the affected provisions.), As Introduced ************************************************************************** * No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated. * ************************************************************************** The bill clarifies that costs attributable to a turnpike project incurred before the issuance of bonds may be reimbursed from the proceeds of the sale of bonds for that project. The bill also authorizes the Texas Turnpike Authority Division to shift costs of reviewing private sector proposals from state funds to the bidder. The provisions of the bill could have a positive fiscal impact to the state. Local Government Impact No fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
