"Buster" Brown, Chair, Senate Committee on Natural Resources FROM: John Keel, Director, Legislative Budget Board IN RE: SB 1685 by Bernsen (relating to the regulation and promotion of the oyster industry in this state.), Committee Report 1st House, Substituted ************************************************************************** * No significant fiscal implication to the State is anticipated. * ************************************************************************** In addition to other provisions of the bill, the bill would create the Texas Oyster Council (TOC) to advise the Board of Health on matters relating to oysters and would create the Oyster Advisory Committee (OAC) to advise the Texas Department of Agriculture on promotion and advertisement of the Texas Oyster Industry. Members of both the TOC and the OAC would serve without the compensation or reimbursement of expenses. Local Government Impact No fiscal implication to units of local government is anticipated.
