LEGISLATIVE BUDGET BOARD Austin, Texas FISCAL NOTE, 76th Regular Session April 23, 1999 TO: Honorable Royce West, Chair, Senate Committee on Higher Education FROM: John Keel, Director, Legislative Budget Board IN RE: SB1859 by Sibley (Relating to the creation of the Texas Woman's University System and declaring the Texas Woman's University Institute of Health Sciences a health related institution), As Introduced ************************************************************************** * No fiscal implication to the State is anticipated under the current * * funding method for the institution. * ************************************************************************** The bill establishes Texas Woman's University System and establishes the Texas Woman's Institute of Health Sciences as a health related institution. If the Legislature adopts funding formulas for health related institutions, the newly created Institute of Health Sciences would be eligible to receive funding under those formulas. To the extent these formulas would generate additional funding than is currently received by Texas Woman's University, there would be a cost to the state.
