Local Government Impact
According to the Texas Natural Resource Conservation Commission, the
costs to establish and operate a groundwater conservation district is
estimated to range from $70,000 to $150,000 per year depending upon the
size of the district. It is assumed that revenues from certain fees set
by the districts would cover the costs to establish and operate the
districts.
