         Pursuant to a notice posted on January 29, 1999, the House  
         Committee on Appropriations met in a public hearing and was  
         called to order by the Chair, Representative Robert Junell at  
         2:06 pm. 
          
         The roll was answered as follows:

         Representatives Flores and Hochberg now present. 
          
         A quorum was present. 
          
         Testimony was taken.  (See attached witness list.) 
          
         Albert Hawkins was recognized by Chairman Junell to present an  
         overview of the Governor's budget proposal.   
          
         At 4:16 pm, on the motion of the chair and without objection,  
         the meeting was adjourned until February 2, 1999 at 8:00 am.
