         Pursuant to a notice posted on January 29, 1999, the House  
         Committee on Appropriations met in a public hearing and was  
         called to order by the Chair, Representative Robert Junell at  
         8:00 am. 
          
         The roll was answered as follows:

                   Gutierrez; Hartnett; Luna, Vilma; Moreno, Paul;  
                   Mowery; Tillery; Van de Putte (11). 
          
         A quorum was present.

         de Putte are present.

         At 9:43 am, on the motion of Representative West, George  
         "Buddy" and without objection, the meeting was recessed until   
         the adjournment of the house. 
          
         The committee reconvened at 11:10 am and was called to order  
         by the Chair, Representative Junell.  The roll was answered as  
         follows:

                   Coleman; Cuellar; Delisi; Eiland; Farrar; Flores;

         Representative Heflin moved to adopt the committee  rules.   
  
         The motion was seconded by Representative Janek.  The  
         committee rules were unanimously adopted. 
          
         At 12:10 pm, on the motion of the chair and without objection,  
         the meeting was adjourned.
